Meet the iManage U Class of 2026
As this year’s internship program comes to an end, we want to take a moment to reflect on the success of our iManage U 2026 program. This summer, we welcomed 28 interns to our Chicago office for our 10-week experience across Engineering, Marketing, Customer Support, Applied AI, Security, and People Operations teams. Our iManage U Class of 2026 made quite the impact on our teams and contributed meaningfully to projects across the organization.

What was your favorite part of interning at iManage?
Mariam Chuli: My favorite part of interning at iManage was the people I got to meet and the connections I made. Everyone — from my manager and mentor to people I passed in the hallway or met at town hall — made me feel welcome. I appreciated how kind everyone was and how supportive the work environment turned out to be.
Alexandra Golley: Collaborating with my team to improve my skills. I learned a lot about what it's like in a real-world work environment, and my team was more than willing to let me join calls and shadow to gain insight.
Megan Kimbler: I love being able to apply my course materials and knowledge in a corporate environment surrounded by supportive individuals who encourage growth!
Nathan Nguyen: My favorite part of this internship was the opportunity to meet, collaborate, and learn from people in the industry. Additionally, the project my team assigned me was purposeful and technically challenging. I was pushed to learn and ask questions, which was difficult at times, but it helped me grow. I found the experience extremely rewarding in terms of my technical growth, but also felt like I developed tremendously in a professional sense.
Tarun Joshi: My favorite part was getting to contribute to real production work while learning from experienced engineers. It was rewarding to see my work progress from understanding a ticket to writing the code and eventually seeing it actually being used by others.
Emma Bijoy: My favorite part of interning at iManage was collaborating with different departments and gaining a well-rounded understanding of all aspects of People Operations.
Kori Williams: One of my favorite parts of interning at iManage is that the company genuinely wants you to leave learning something you didn’t come in with. You are not assigned “dummy work,” but rather perceived as a full-time employee of the team (with fewer expectations). I got to work on tasks that full-time employees do. I got to decide and lead what I wanted my internship’s overall project to be. iManage internships really do set you up for success.
What sort of support/mentorship did you experience over the course of your internship?
Alexandra Golley: Everyone was willing to help, not just my team, but others across iManage too. Any time I needed support from someone outside my immediate group, they jumped in without hesitation.
Nathan Nguyen: The mentorship I received was exceptional. My supervisor and mentor were incredible. Our team held daily stand-ups where we discussed current work and any issues we were facing. I also met weekly with my supervisor to address challenges or discuss anything on my mind. This made me feel like a genuine part of the team and motivated me to improve.
Tarun Joshi: I received a lot of support from my mentor, my team, and other software developers. They were always willing to answer questions, explain unfamiliar systems, and provide detailed feedback during code reviews, even when it wasn’t their responsibility. At the same time, they gave me enough independence to work through problems and develop confidence as an engineer.
Desiree Menezes: I had an amazing experience working closely with my supervisor who was always approachable and invested in my growth. I also learned a lot from the rest of the Legal Operations team, who were generous with their time, and trusted me with meaningful work.
Catalina Philips-Li: I talked with people across many different teams, which gave me the guidance not just on my day-to-day work, but also insight into the UX Research and UX design industries.
Emma Bijoy: In addition to my manager, many members of my department took the time to support me throughout my internship. They were always open to answering questions, sharing their expertise, and providing opportunities to learn and contribute whenever I expressed interest. This gave me the ability to take ownership of my experience and tailor it to align with my professional interests and learning goals.
Krishi Thiruppathi: Personally, I had a great experience with my manager. She was very supportive, helped me understand the product in the earlier stages, and made sure I took forward my work stage-by-stage. I had research work initially to have a better understanding, then implemented the understanding for the use case. It was very structured thanks to her, and whenever I had any kind of blockers, it was very easy to resolve them with the team.
Kori Williams: iManage pairs interns with both a mentor, and of course, a manager, both of whom are responsible for ensuring smooth sailing throughout the internship. Through my internship, I would meet with both once a week for a one-on-one, where I could lead the conversation and ask any questions, voice any concerns, and receive advice from the two of them.
Describe your iManage internship in 3 words:
Kori Williams: Inviting. Organized. Worthwhile.
Alexander Panos: Challenging. Rewarding. Collaborative.
Catalina Philips-Li: Inspiring. Transformative. Enriching.
Desiree Menezes: Collaborative. Empowering. Rewarding.
Tarun Joshi: Challenging. Exciting. Rewarding.
Megan Kimbler: Connection. Growth. Learning.
Tony Luo: This is epic.
Alexandra Golley: Intriguing, Confidence-building, Collaborative
What have you enjoyed most about the culture at iManage?
Mariam Chuli: I've enjoyed how no question is a "stupid" question. Everyone I worked with encouraged me to speak up whenever I was confused about a topic or task, and every question I asked was met with reassurance and understanding. Overall, I appreciated the supportive way my team and other teams worked together.
Alexandra Golley: I've enjoyed that iManage is a very “you can do it” place, and you're never alone in that. There's always someone willing to help and support you, and that makes you feel capable.
Nathan Nguyen: The culture at iManage is amazing. I was especially fortunate to work with the SRE team, who were always supportive and willing to help. Getting to know and spend time with the other interns was fantastic whether through lunch, ping pong, or attending meetings together. What stands out most is that everyone was open to listening and giving feedback, regardless of title. This culture shifted my mindset from "I have to do this work" to "I get to do this work."
Catalina Philips-Li: The culture here is something I will genuinely cherish; it made my internship far more enriching than I could have anticipated. Everyone I’ve met has supported my questions, interests, and eagerness to learn, and I’ve grown so much because of it.
Krishi Thiruppathi: There were always a lot of engaging social events in which all the interns usually had a lot of fun. The Chicago office usually does a bagel Tuesday for breakfast, also activities like beach cleaning and ice cream socials, which let us interact not only with fellow interns but also with a lot of full-time employees. I personally had amazing experiences interacting with them.
What project(s) have you been working on?
Mariam Chuli: In the first half of my internship, I worked on social media copywriting for LinkedIn, including posts for blogs and articles. In the second half, I led my own research project focused on the new iManage Instagram presence. I researched best practices for B2B companies on Instagram, then followed up with recommendations based on that research, along with my own creative ideas for future campaigns.
Alexandra Golley: I worked on keeping our API samples consistent, ensuring each one included sign-in functions and was available in both PowerShell and Python. I also reviewed our help desk tickets to spot repeated trends and built scripts to address those.
Megan Kimbler: I have several projects, but some include doing recruitment/sourcing with Talent Acquisition, event planning, and working on global process documents.
Nathan Nguyen: I am working on an automation suite that lints and secures Helm charts while enforcing best practices. I will integrate into our CI/CD pipeline through GitHub Actions to validate charts on every PR. I also created a workflow that will notify the team when a PR has not been looked at for a week.
Christian Manuel: I am working on an internal dashboard for the customer reliability engineering team that compiles analytics for a new partner integration project.
Tarun Joshi: My main project involves refactoring part of the tenant administration backend by migrating database operations from Ebean to MyBatis. I am working on several APIs and entities, writing data-access and service-layer code, and ensuring the changes follow the team’s existing architecture and testing standards. I am also working with a cloud data simulator and have gained exposure to many backend systems and technologies.
Desiree Menezes: I’ve worked on a variety of Legal Operations projects, including contract management, compliance-related initiatives, document organization, and writing articles. Having the opportunity to contribute to different projects has given me a broad perspective on how the team supports the business.
Kori Williams: My primary project has been completing a Penetration Test on three applications and components. I have also been included in completing remediation validation tickets, CVE tickets, dealing with customer findings, and other ticketing-related tasks.
What does a typical day look like?
Alexandra Golley: Usually, I'll be working on the task assigned to me by my manager, and often my team will ping me to shadow them on any calls they think would be interesting for me.
Nathan Nguyen: My day varies slightly depending on the day but follows a general pattern. I come to the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. My day starts with the team stand-up, followed by work on my project until lunch. Sometimes I eat with my team or other interns. After lunch, I attend any scheduled meetings and work on my project during open time. I occasionally take breaks with other interns to play ping pong.
Tarun Joshi: A typical day starts with checking Slack, working on my current tickets, and attending my team’s daily stand-up. Most of the day is spent working on the migration, writing or running tests, and responding to code-review feedback. I also meet with my mentor, ask questions when I am blocked, and learn more about the systems and technologies used by the team.
Catalina Philips-Li: Every day I run two standups and I often join a meeting on some aspects of a project, like a user testing session or feedback review. I grab lunch with other interns, then spend most of the rest of my day updating user stories and other documentation so developers know exactly what’s needed for each task.
Emma Bijoy: No two days are exactly the same, as my work and areas of focus vary from day to day. A typical day may involve planning details for an upcoming event, meeting with team members regarding ongoing recruiting initiatives, and updating projects based on feedback. During downtime, I complete learning and development courses and connect with my team to see where I can provide additional support.
Krishi Thiruppathi: We usually come in around 8:30 – 9:00 AM, and I would have standup calls in the morning with my team. Once a week, we would have calls with the entire team to hear everyone’s updates who are working on different teams, and an enrichment cycle call every month. I would then have a one-on-one standup call with my manager every day to discuss in detail my updates, blockers, and next steps/corrections. We would occasionally connect twice a day if there were some other updates or PR reviews that needed to be done. Also, there would be some in-person/online iManage U programs at least once a week. If we are at the office, we would have some lecture sessions for people in tech or some social events in the evening before the day ends.
If you have had an internship before, what is different about interning at iManage? What sets this experience apart?
Alexandra Golley: All of my internships before this have been school-related, so this one gave me my first real taste of corporate life. It was cool to finally feel a distinction between university and work, and to work on projects that actually benefit people.
Megan Kimbler: I haven't had a different internship. But I hear many people say that iManage stands out as interns are able to contribute to projects, have strong mentorship, and are encouraged to learn.
Nathan Nguyen: I've had two internships before, but this has been my best experience by far. I'm extremely fortunate to have worked with such a strong team that had a structured project ready for me from day one. However, what truly sets iManage apart is the culture. The company and people here genuinely want interns to succeed and go the extra mile to help. Everyone seems to love working here, and that passion is contagious.
Christian Manuel: I have had one other internship before this, but interning at iManage has been a unique experience in comparison. At iManage, coming into work does not feel like work. The company culture iManage has cultivated promotes an environment that brings out a wide range of personalities. Many of the projects the other interns and I have worked on are actively in use, which lets us see the real impact we are making. I also think the encouragement to learn from others made this experience much less daunting as a student with not much industry experience.
Emma Bijoy: Prior to joining iManage, I interned at the University of Illinois Counseling Center for a year and a half. What sets iManage apart is the variety of learning opportunities available across different areas of the organization. While my previous internship provided a more specialized experience, iManage has allowed me to explore multiple facets of People Operations and gain broader exposure to the field. This experience has given me a more well-rounded perspective and valuable insight into the career path I would like to pursue after graduation.
Krishi Thiruppathi: I did have three internships before, and for sure, all the experiences have been completely different from each other. Particularly at iManage, I loved the project I was assigned to and how it was structured for me. I really enjoyed what I did, so it wasn’t just work for me; I had a lot of useful hands-on learning and worked with more evolved tools that are needed in the market now. My previous internships did set up a strong base for me, but iManage did help me grow a lot. I am more confident in what I do and know what needs to be done to give optimal deliverables.
Kori Williams: What sets iManage apart is how intentional the internship experience is. There is a real intern community, a structured program, and a company-wide effort to make sure interns are learning, growing, and building meaningful connections. The events weren’t just social; they gave us opportunities to hear from employees, explore different teams, and learn more about the company. Another aspect that stood out was that interns are trusted with real work. Instead of spending summer on busy work, I got to contribute to projects that actually matter. iManage genuinely wants its interns to succeed, and you leave the internship knowing more than when you started, which is what made this experience so different from my previous internship.
What advice do you have for next year’s interns?
Mariam Chuli: My biggest advice is not to be afraid to talk to anyone you'd like to talk to. Almost everyone is willing to make time for you especially during a quick break because they remember being in your shoes.
Megan Kimbler: Get yourself out there and ask questions! This helped me make the most of my internship and facilitated so much learning!
Nathan Nguyen: Be professional, but don't be afraid to ask questions or admit when you're unfamiliar with something and say yes to every opportunity that comes your way. The internship goes by quickly, so use your time effectively to maximize your learning.
Christian Manuel: My best advice for next year’s interns is to not be afraid to ask questions and make mistakes. Asking questions and making mistakes is the best way to learn and the employees at iManage are always willing and able to help. There really is no such thing as a bad question at iManage.
Tarun Joshi: Don’t be afraid to ask questions, especially when you are first getting started. Take notes, pay attention, and try to understand why the team follows certain conventions. Also, take advantage of opportunities to meet people outside your immediate team. iManage is the first company I’ve seen where everyone genuinely loves to help, and the culture is amazing, so never hesitate to ask for help!
Desiree Menezes: Be curious and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Everyone genuinely wants to help you succeed, and asking questions is the best way to learn. Also, say yes to new opportunities that may be a little out of your comfort zone, because they’re a great way to build new skills and meet people across the company.
Catalina Philips-Li: Take advantage of the network here, connect with people across departments, even ones outside your own, because you never know what you’ll learn. Use every resource available to you, don’t be afraid to ask questions, and enjoy the experience. Time flies.
Emma Bijoy: Take advantage of every learning opportunity available to you. You will get out of the internship what you put into it, so challenge yourself to go beyond the minimum expectations, stay curious, and actively seek opportunities to learn and contribute.
Krishi Thiruppathi: Understand your role and responsibilities clearly and ask a lot of questions if you have any in the earlier stages, rather than saving them for later. If you have any blockers — for example, if you are in the tech team (since I can speak for that) — try to fix them yourself, since you are the better judge. But if it’s something that’s not resolvable, reach out to your manager or team and don’t wait on it. Interact with your fellow interns and teammates and learn about the work nature. Truly, knowledge is power.
Alexander Panos: Stay curious in whatever field you're in, ask questions, and make an effort to meet new people and get to know them.
Kori Williams: Don’t worry if you feel clueless at first. That’s what being an intern is all about! Ask questions, stay curious, and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. This internship is a chance to learn, so take advantage of every opportunity, even if it feels a little intimidating.
