From its inception, McCarthy Tétrault set out to deliver the best outcomes for clients by developing industry-specific expertise, providing seamless services, deepening client relationships, innovating on service delivery and offerings, and investing in people.
“The firm is committed to innovation not just from a technological perspective, but also in the manner in which we build our firm,” says Kosta Kalogiros, Partner, Litigation Department, McCarthy Tétrault.
We needed a more consistent approach to document management
The firm’s legacy document management system had become challenging to navigate, and performing searches was frustratingly slow. The existing process of saving emails was time consuming and lacked consistency, and key details were often contained in those emails, presenting another hurdle in trying to gather comprehensive information relating to a matter.
“We needed a more consistent approach to document management across the whole enterprise,” said Kathleen Hogan, Senior Director, Knowledge and Data Insights, McCarthy Tétrault.
As a cloud-first organization, they were looking for a document management system that was also cloud-first, particularly for the enhanced security that it represents. Hogan had previous experience with iManage and had liked its powerful search and intuitive user interface.
Access to information improved a thousand percent
“iManage Work 10 in the Cloud has really improved performance and system stability, and access to information has been improved a thousand percent,” says Hogan. “iManage has brought simplicity to our file management,” Kalogiros adds.
They say staff are more efficient than ever and lawyers are keeping more comprehensive records, which has streamlined collaboration and accelerated the pace of work overall. Users have consistent access to highly available data from anywhere. Performance issues are a thing of the past.
“I’ve really been happy to be able to solve pain points for my lawyers, and for others that work in the firm,” concluded Hogan. ”We delivered on time, and under budget, and so it was overall an incredibly successful and gratifying project.”
