Going beyond replacing a legacy DMS to gain greater efficiencies from a single platform

Vedder Price accelerated their digital transformation initiatives, identified asset value, and streamlined their workflow by centralizing their knowledge work on iManage Cloud.

iManage CEO Neil Araujo says, “The task is document management, email management, records management, but the reason they invest in it is because they want to make knowledge work.”

The customer communicates this need in a variety of ways.

Robert Vosters, Manager of Records and Information Compliance, Vedder Price, told us that the document management system was the firm’s primary driver for change — they wanted to get people working in a more matter-centric environment, ideally using a single repository.

The iManage platform offers compelling workflow management including the ability to integrate with email and other Microsoft products the firm uses, and centralization is at the core of the technology.

Timely implementation

As it turned out, the firm’s decision to move to iManage Cloud could not have come at a better time; their implementation was completed in February 2020, just before – by necessity – their entire workforce had to go remote. Vosters told us that the transition from the legacy systems to iManage was seamless.

Beyond the successful rollout and strong adoption at Vedder Price, Vosters appreciates the integrated features of Records Manager, Security Policy Manager, and Threat Manager, which expand his capabilities far ahead of what the firm’s legacy systems could offer, and help to reduce the firm’s risk.

Transformational results

Remarking on the success of iManage for the firm, Vosters said it was “transformational” for people to see how much more they could do when they switched to iManage.
